29 No-Code Tools You NEED to Try in 2022

20 min readJan 2, 2022

If we were to rewind 10 years from now, many application and web designs would depend on developers who had to work day and night to make its code work. Fast-forward to 2022, the developers’ job is to code a tool to help us develop- with no code.

It is the best time to jump on to no-code train now.
No-code is the future. If you become an expert now,
you will be one of the most in-demand people
in the future.

Arun Saigal, Cofounder and CEO Thunkable

You may not realize it, but you’ve probably used a no-code or low-code tool already.

The chances are even higher if you are a creator on the web. And if you think you haven’t used them, you definitely came across one.

Even something as challenging as creating a website or building an app can be possible thanks to no-code tools.

So today, let’s talk about:

Jump to the best no-code tools from this list 👇

But what are no-code tools exactly?

What is no-code?

No-code or a no-code tool, to be more practical, is a method and a movement of programming that does not necessarily involve writing code but instead works with GUI (Graphic User Interface) tools. This is so to say that no-code tools don’t depend on their users’ knowledge and ability to use code, instead, it makes use of way simpler methods to increase efficiency.

However, if we were to look into it, we must make something clear.

“No-code” doesn’t really mean no-code.

In fact, there is coding, and that is the coding the people who developed the tool did. However, for an easier and cheaper experience for the user of the tool (meaning most businesses today), all you need to do is click, scroll, and/or drag and drop.

Mr. Robot doesn’t seem so cool now, does he?

What can I do with a no-code tool?

Today, there is no limitation to what you can create with a no-code tool.

In fact, you can count a lot of things you already did without knowing it was no-code. From creating a website to building an app, there are so many possibilities. You can automate your work or home tasks, you can organize your data, or you can get paid via no-code.

Remember that one time you created a survey online? That was no-code too.

To code, or not to code. That is not the question anymore.

No-code is not focused on one specific industry or area of work, there are many kinds of tools. However, it doesn’t change the fact that all no-code tools have a purpose — be it in one industry or another.

Let’s look at the types of no-code tools.

No-Code Tool Types

Believe me when I say, there are as many types of no-code tools as there are no-code tools.

Since most of these tools are equipped with different kinds of features, it is very hard to say one specific tool is one type of tool unless the developers declare that it is.

However, there are some prominent types that are big requirements for SaaS businesses, so, instead of going down to the philosophy of tools and tech, let’s talk about them.

App/Website Building

Building a website, let alone an app is one big task. But we seem to have forgotten this, thanks to no-code tools for website/app building. While no-code tools like Bubble, Webflow, and Carrd are among the forerunners of website/app-building tools, there are many other options for smaller or enterprise-level companies.

Of course, with these tools you are unlikely to be able to build an app like clubhouse, but it will definitely be possible in the future.

Onboarding/ Interactive Guides

You have built a website alright, but you cannot be the only one who knows how to navigate through it.

No-code tools for interactive guides come into the picture right here. These guides are designed to work for all industries since you are the one creating the content of it.

One of these types of no-code tools is UserGuiding and we are proud of our simple, easy-to-use onboarding tool. Of course, there are many more no-code onboarding tools out there but if you were to ask for my slightly biased opinion, I’d go with Userguiding for sure.

Voice

In the last couple of years, or maybe even the last decade, voice tech slowly but surely became a big part of our lives.

And now, people look for voice integrations left and right. If you are like me, you also talk to Siri or Alexa a lot. They make it all easier and it is always fun to find out what you can and can’t do with just a voice command.

No-code voice tools are made by people who understand that and look for better ways to let us use our voice without code. Voiceflow and Otter.ai are among those tools that help you get your customers accustomed to the luxury of voice.

Project Management

Now, I don’t want to reveal just how young I am but the excel files and notebook checklists were nowhere to be found when I stepped into business.

This could be because I am in the SaaS industry, or because those aren’t really a thing anymore. And we have no other than no-code project management tools for that.

Think of a world where you can’t just open Notion or Airtable, add a topic there for all your teammates to see and know that the task is gonna get done. Or just think of 20 years ago, I guess.

It just doesn’t feel right.

But we don’t really have to think about such a scenario since no-code project management is only getting better every day.

Automation

Without automation, so many businesses would be doomed to go bankrupt.

Everybody wants everything right, fast, and on time now and it is no human task to make that wish come true.

So, it goes without saying that we need no-code automation. And no-code automation specifically, because automation and the rest of the tasks in all businesses became so intertwined that everyone needs to make automation for their own needs now.

So yes, Zapier and Automate.io are here to stay.

Analytics

Now, if you think automation cannot be entrusted to a human being, get ready for this one ’cause I assure you: you should let the computers do the math.

Of course, analytics goes further than calculation and reporting; and no-code analytics tools like Obviously.ai and Mixpanel prove that. They make the whole process so much easier with visuals and drag and drop features that I’d even say they make analytics fun.

You are hearing this from a math hater too, so you know it means something.

Customer Service

All good SaaS companies have at least one thing in common: good customer service.

That is precisely why it is important that you get your customer service up to the top-notch. And when you are aiming for perfection, the fastest and the most effective solution is no-code. Tools like Zendesk and Intercom got your back.

Marketing

Marketing is an inseparable part of any business.

And so, there is an abundance of no-code tools dedicated to various types of marketing like email marketing, social media marketing, and conversational marketing. But let’s remember why exactly no-code marketing tools matter so greatly.

Marketing is a fast-paced, critical business.

It is easy enough to deduce that there is no room for the intricacies of coding. Thus, no-code tools like HubSpot Marketing Hub and MailChimp have the spotlight on ‘em.

Now that you know the types of no-code tools, we can head over to talk about the tools themselves. But before we start, we’ve attended TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin 2019 and compiled a list of the best low/no-code startups from the event, I recommend you take a look.

And now let’s take a look at my favorite no-code examples from our no-code growth marketing report.

App/website building

1- Hubspot CMS

When you think of Hubspot, the first thing that comes to mind is its Sales Hub or CRM features.

But an often overlooked feature of Hubspot, the Content Management System (CMS) provides business owners with an easy way to build websites, landing pages, business blogs, and any content they need.

✅ Countless templates to choose from.

✅ Fully customizable simply by dragging&dropping.

Responsive design that fits all devices.

✅ Fits right into your existing workflows.

Unlimited Possibilities.

The best part?

If you’re already utilizing Hubspot as your CRM, Sales, and Marketing solution; you can integrate your content with all these features to have an all-in-one platform for all your business needs.

Make sure you give Hubspot CMS a try before asking your developers to build the landing pages you need.

2- Code2

Code2.io is a newly-launched no-code platform that helps you build custom responsive web apps without coding.

Code2’s advanced visual editor and drag-and-drop interface makes it possible to create scalable web apps with pixel-perfect designs and powerful workflows. Setup, hosting, launching and scaling — Code2 takes care of all of them for you.

It provides an all-in-one no-code platform that enables you to build and launch customer-facing web applications without having to worry about deployment, hosting and limits on the number of users or data storage.

It’s a great choice for anyone willing to grow their business or monetize their idea without code — be it a startup founder, a business owner, a freelancer, or just someone with an idea and a business plan.

Pricing

Code2.io has different pricing plans in addition to a lifetime free plan for people who want to get started with and explore its platform.

3- Bubble

If you need to build a web app, Bubble.io is your new best friend.

Bubble.io gives you the opportunity to prototype a whole app, build and launch in hours, and scale your growth efficiently. With a powerful set of internal tools, it is functional and easy to use at the same time.

However, what really made me fall in love with the product was the feature that lets you edit the main page, which showcases how easy it is to create and edit a website while gaining further admiration with this clever trick.

Pricing

Bubble.io has a free tier version as well as 3 more paid tiers.

4- Webflow

Webflow is a website-building platform that lets you design and launch responsive websites. You may have had experiences with other website builders but Webflow will feel really special.

I’ll give you 3 reasons why:

Details, details, and details.

Most website builders will let you customize to a certain extent, but with Webflow, it feels as easy as dragging and clicking and as in-control as coding.

Furthermore, it is very customizable. You can choose to start from scratch and build a fully responsive website just the way you like, or you can use a template if you want to go the quicker way.

Believe me, it won’t disappoint you.

Pricing

Webflow has different tiers and prices for individual and site plans. For an individual account, you can start for free and then upgrade to Lite for $16 monthly or to Pro $35 monthly. For site plans, you may want to check Webflow.com.

5- Carrd

Imagine Webflow but in a quicker and easier way.

Carrd is a perfect no-code tool for building simpler websites. Yet, don’t let that mislead you, Carrd is just as powerful as the other tools, but with a different aim.

Carrd is designed to build one-page websites that you can customize using templates or from scratch. Thanks to its simplicity and price, Carrd finds a spot on this list.

It will let you have 3 websites and use all the core features for free and if you want to go pro, it’ll cost you only $19 a year. Yes, a year!

Pricing

Carrd has 3 different plans with custom options for each.

6- Thunkable

Another app-building tool with great potential is Thunkable.

With powerful features and an easy-to-use interface, this one’s just right for a quick mock-up and will automatically get your app working on both IOS and Android.

What I personally like besides the ease of drag-and-drop and easy animations is the option to either start from scratch or remix with existing, sample projects; Thunkable got your back even if you are not a designer.

Pricing

Thunkable has a free plan that lets users have 200MB of space on their accounts. When upgraded you can either go with personal or business plans:

  • Starter — $13/month
  • Pro — $38/month
  • Business — $167/month
  • Enterprise — custom

7- Quixy

Looking for a platform that your business users across departments can use to build applications for their unique needs without burdening the IT team, then Quixy is the platform for you.

Quixy is a cloud-based, user-friendly digital transformation platform that empowers enterprise business users with no coding skills to automate workflows & processes and build enterprise-grade applications, using simple drag and drop design, ten times faster than the traditional approach.

Pricing

8- Bravo Studio

Bravo Studio got its priorities straight: design first and code never.

And we do appreciate a good app builder but Bravo Studio is more than that. With any third-party API integration, this no-code tool lets you build even complex apps, brings together data and design, helps you test the app and publish.

Onboarding/ interactive guides

9- Memberstack

During using onboarding, we have one primary goal in mind: making sure the user comes back.

And you can’t really succeed if you can’t get your user to sign in on your website/app.

Now, getting a login/sign-in function or even a payment section isn’t really the easiest part of coding if you are entrusting it to an in-house developer.

That’s why I recommend you use a no-code tool like Memberstack. Although it is a fairly new tool, it has gained quite some popularity. From secure login to gated content as well as integrations with Zapier and Integromat, and a perfect match with Webflow, Memberstack has a lot to offer.

Pricing

There is no free plan for Memberstack but you get to use unlimited features for free until your website goes live.

10- UserGuiding

Now that you have developed your website or web app using a no-code tool or with the hard work of your developers, you will need a way to onboard new users.

What would you say if I told you there is no need to code at this stage either?

UserGuiding is a user onboarding tool to create the best user onboarding experiences for your product. Without any coding, UserGuiding helps you with various features such as:

The guided tour software works as a browser extension and works directly on your product:

In addition, you can segment users to create personalized experiences and have them go through only the necessary onboarding elements based on their purposes.

Also, UserGuiding enables you to track the performance of your creations with an in-depth analytics tool.

Voice tech

11- Voiceflow

After Siri’s debut as a voice assistant in 2011, we’ve come a long way.

With Amazon’s Alexa and Google’s Google Assistant taking their place right next to Siri as the most prominent voice assistants, it was high time voice tech became a no-code tool.

Voiceflow does exactly that.

Now be honest, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to customize your voice assistant more?

With Voiceflow you can prototype on the browser or try it on the actual voice device, thanks to the feature that lets you upload with one click. Voiceflow can be used for Alexa or Google Assistant. And even when you are working with a team, there’s a space in the tool just for that purpose.

What makes Voiceflow especially good is probably the UI. With the drag and drop method, the tool lets you visually prepare your voice app in a very efficient and fun way.

Pricing

12- Otter.ai

There’s something very fascinating about voice technologies (probably because I am a die-hard Iron Man fan) that we don’t seem to grasp fully yet, and every time a company like Otter.ai comes up with a new thing we just stop for a moment and say: wait, that’s possible?

With features like live transcription, automatic meeting note summaries, easy recording options, and a ton of integrations, Otter.ai offers an interactive experience we didn’t really consider happening.

But it did happen and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

Well, to be exact, most of us had the first impression already as Otter started working with Google Meet and Zoom for live transcription. And let’s not forget that Dropbox, IBM, and Verizon Connect also use Otter.ai.

Pricing

Project management

13- Airtable

I don’t know about you, but every time I use a spreadsheet it feels like coding.

However, this spreadsheet and database hybrid tool doesn’t need you to code at all. Airtable is a tool that looks like a spreadsheet, but it is way more than that.

Being mostly used for project management, Airtable provides a very needed workspace for all the members of your team. Apart from the ease of use it offers thanks to the blocks and labeling system, Airtable is fun to use (if you ever worked on a project before, you’d know that fun UI is a mood booster).

Also, you might want to keep in mind that Netflix, Buzzfeed, and Medium work with Airtable.

Pricing

14- Notion

Notion is an all-in-one workplace, as team Notion calls it. And I can testify that it really is.

With Notion, your team and the whole company can work collaboratively, create tasks, track processes, and do a lot more.

The whole idea behind Notion is to give teams and departments the flexibility and collaboration they need in and out of the office, and they do a pretty good job at that.

Pricing

  • Team — $8 per month/ per member
  • Enterprise — custom

Notion offers two different tiers for individuals and businesses. While there is a free plan for individuals, upgrading to personal pro costs $4 per month. The pricing is a bit different for teams;

15- Workiom

Bring all your tables, tasks, projects, and timelines together with Workiom.

With all the features you need to create a digital space for your team and the whole business, Workiom is great if you want to get the best out of all your processes without any coding.

Its many integrations and automation capabilities, as well as innovative features such as performance tracking, make the tool stand out from the crowd and worthy of your tech stack.

  • Standard: 1K automations and 20 GBs of storage, $5/member/month.
  • Business: 40K automations and 100 GBs of storage, $10/member/month.
  • Enterprise: unlimited automations and unlimited storage, custom quoting required.

Pricing

16- Coda

If you hate jumping between tabs as much as I do, then you’ll love Coda.

Coda has one purpose: bringing all the data and people back in the same space. And they do it pretty well.

With Coda’s all-in-one doc your team can vote on ideas, create roadmaps, draft projects, and even play games. Among the companies that are on the same doc with Coda are Spotify, the New York Times, Doordash, and Uber.

Pricing

Coda’s pricing is one of a kind in one aspect, they don’t charge for every member like some other tools do. Instead, they only charge for the members who create docs; the editors and viewers are always free. Plus, they offer a free tier too.

17- ClickUp

Looking for the best place to keep track of your (and your co-workers’) work? You are looking for ClickUp.

With its comprehensive dashboard and numerous views, ClickUp makes sure to never let you miss a deadline. Whether you are assigning tasks, setting reminders, or just using the notepad ClickUp can be the one-stop-shop you need.

What’s more, ClickUp makes it possible to integrate with over 1000 tools and apps so that all your work is lined up in front of you.

Pricing

ClickUp currently has two pricing options:

Free — forever free with 100MB storage and unlimited tasks and members

Unlimited — $5 per member / per month

Automation

18- Zapier

Zapier is an automation dream.

Many users describe Zapier as a swiss knife that helps so much in a simplistic yet effective way. It saves time, money, and a huge headache.

Zapier integrates apps and tools in a way that they perform specific tasks like a domino effect. With more than 2.000 apps like Google Suite, Slack, Twitter, and Gmail ready to be chained up for your best interest, Zapier creates a seamless experience.

One of the most appreciated features is the quick setup. The tool is not a complex one and it is easy to learn, so it saves time and money.

  • Starter: $19,99/month (750 tasks)
  • Professional: $49/month (2000 tasks)

  • Company: $599/month (100.000 tasks)

Pricing

19- Automate.io

Automate.io is an automation app that is used by high-profile businesses in tech space, such as Adobe, Intel, and Uber.

It is a leading no-code integration platform that integrates with over 200 apps. You can build simple bots between two or multiple apps and put your work on auto-pilot. Bots inside Automate.io refresh at regular intervals unless you are manually pausing it; so, set up your trigger and action apps, and that’s it.

The drag and drop interface lets you create triggers and actions easily between apps.

Pricing

20- Integromat

Integromant is one of the well-trusted no-code tools with customers like Adidas, Airbnb, Uber, and Cisco; and they totally deserve the trust they receive.

With great features added every day, and a collection of over 500 integrations that not only integrate with Integromat but also with one another, this no-code tool could be exactly what you need.

Analytics

21- Obviously.ai

Obviously.ai is a data science tool that will help you make very informed decisions for your SaaS business.

Taking pride in working with Yahoo! and Forbes, Obviously.ai makes sure to create the easiest and simplest prediction experience for you. However, don’t be fooled, as much as it is a big no-brainer tool, it does make a difference with what-if scenarios and integrations with the most necessary tools.

Pricing

22- Mixpanel

Mixpanel is a product analytics tool that helps teams figure out the when and whys of churn, make fast decisions, and build better products. Working with more than 26.000 companies (including Twitter and Uber), this tool is sure to transform your reports into way more meaningful CTAs.

What I really like about Mixpanel is how customizable its reports are. Many users report ease of use, but the ease of use means nothing when there is not much to work with from the beginning. So, what Mixpanel does is that it brings together ease of use and customizable features together.

Pricing

Mixpanel has a free plan with which you can track 100K monthly users, when you want to upgrade there is the Growth plan starting at $25 a month. And when you are finally ready to upgrade to enterprise, Mixpanel is a phone call away.

23- Google Analytics

Then there is Google Analytics, of course.

Google Analytics is a small business’ best friend because it has very advanced features and it gets you the data only Google can get you. Literally.

But it’s not only small businesses who enjoy cool features like reporting, data analysis, and visualization, as the Google Analytics 360 opens up even more advanced features. What’s more is, you are using a Google product, so it automatically integrates with every other Google app seamlessly.

Pricing

Google Analytics as a base software is a freemium tool, you get to access advanced features free. But if you need more, there is Google Analytics 360. There is no fixed price for this upgraded version and you get to talk to the sales according to your specific needs.

Customer Service

24- Zendesk

Grubhub and Mailchimp both work with Zendesk. So can you.

What makes Zendesk the top of the game in customer service software is probably its ability to bring together so many of the most-in-demand features out there. From ticketing options and live chat to a knowledge base, Zendesk is a multi-feature swiss knife of a tool. All that and no-code.

Moreover, Zendesk has a sales solution you can use in harmony with the service solution so that you and other teams’ work is lined up perfectly. Countless integration options can be the cherry on top.

Pricing

  • Suite Team — $49 per agent/month billed annually
  • Suite Growth — $79 per agent/month billed annually
  • Suite Professional — $99 per agent/month billed annually

Zendesk offers five different tiers, three of which are for everyone and two for enterprises.

25- Intercom

When it’s about business messengers you know where to go: Intercom.

I don’t even have to pitch the idea to you, that is the influence Intercom has. And over 25,000 companies like Amazon, Facebook, Shopify, and Microsoft would back me up on that as they are among the ones that entrust their customer support to Intercom.

So, if you want a 24/7 online business messenger, powerful management tools, a full-fledged customer data platform, and countless integrations with your favorite apps and tools, Intercom is calling for you.

Pricing

Intercom currently has four tiers for different use cases; one for “very small businesses”, and the other three for “most businesses”.

Starter — from $79/mo

Conversational Support — get a demo

Conversational Customer Engagement — get a demo

Conversational Marketing — get a demo

26- Helpjuice

If you are one of the few who thinks, “why deal with support when I can end the need for it.” Helpjuice might be just right for you.

That’s right, with a comprehensive knowledge base tool like Helpjuice, you might as well cut your customer support efforts in half. Of course, that is not to say fire your customer support team. Just empower them with a tool like Helpjuice 💪

With features like authoring and content formating, analytics, customization, and many integration options, Helpjuice is the best for when you want to set up a knowledge base for the first time.

Pricing

Helpjuice offers four different tiers all of which they guarantee is more budget-friendly than other customer service tools out there. They also offer a 14-day trial.

Marketing

27- HubSpot Marketing Hub

We’ve already mentioned Hubspot’s CMS at #1, but the Marketing Hub of Hubspot deserves its own mention under the marketing category because it is, well, amazing.

Even if you already have your website, landing pages, and blog built in another platform, Hubspot still can be used to create marketing content that acts on top of them.

  • Create Popups and Embed Forms to capture leads,
  • Create CTA Buttons and Images to convert customers,
  • Create beatiful Emails and seamlessly run Automated/Triggered Email Campaigns.
  • Put all of the features together to create Workflows/Automations that save you hours.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Support teams to offer smooth experiences to customers.

Hubspot has it all!

Hubspot’s Marketing Hub allows you to:

Pricing

  • Starter — Starts at $45/mo
  • Professional — Starts at $800/mo
  • Enterprise — Starts at $3,200/mo

Putting the free version aside, a lot of calculating goes into HubSpot’s pricing, and it all depends on the number of marketing contacts you have. However, roughly speaking, HubSpot’s three tiers for HubSpot Marketing Hub look like this:

28- MailChimp

Just like HubSpot, MailChimp has been among the essentials of marketing for years now. And it is rightfully so with its award-winning support, 250+ app integrations, and a directory of trusted pros.

Moreover, although we all know MailChimp as an email marketing tool, it does a lot more: you can use audience management tools, a content studio, automate your marketing processes, and look into analytics with analytics tools. Basically everything about marketing.

Is this your call to join companies like Vimeo and TED in using MailChimp?

Pricing-

MailChimp offers a free version, as well as three other plans. You can add more and get a price accordingly, but the base pricing looks like this:

Essentials — starts at $9.99/month based on 500 contacts

Standard — starts at $14.99/month based on 500 contacts

Premium — starts at $299/month based on 10,000 contacts

29- Drift

Drift as a conversational marketing tool has something special to it: It does more than marketing.

It is, as they like to call it at Drift, the world’s first and only revenue acceleration platform. How, though? By combining marketing, sales, and customer success in one ultimate tool.

It has many use cases too; live chat, Drift Intel, Drift Meetings, Drift Email, Virtual Selling Assistants, Drift Video, and Drift Prospector are just some of the ways you can utilize the tool. Let’s not forget over 50 integrations too.

Pricing

Drift has a free trial, three different plans, as well as some additional options.
